GREENEVILLE, Tenn-- Gregory “Frog” Thomas, 32, of Hartford, Cocke County, Tenn., was sentenced to 240 months in prison in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee at Greeneville by the Honorable J. Ronnie Greer, U.S. District Judge. The sentence was the result of a guilty plea by Thomas on January 28, 2010, to a federal indictment charging him with conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine base (“crack”), a Schedule II controlled substance.

The indictment and subsequent conviction of Thomas was the result of a 21-month investigation conducted by the Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and Federal Bureau of Investigation. This investigation has resulted in six defendants, including Thomas, being convicted in this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Rob Reeves represented the United States.
